My fella recently happened upon info, that would come to finally determine what kind of breed our girl is; most likely anyway. It seems she is a Nebelung, a rare breed that was created in the mid ’80s…of this past century! Usually one would think, ohhhh, this type of creature has been around since it was first recorded in the 1880’s. Nope, not in this case. Seems in 1984, when other rare things were being created, like Much Music and the twist-off beer-cap, a woman named, Cora Cobb took a look at her cats and realized that they were not only beautiful but a little different; Russian Blue but with long coats. She set about getting the breed recognized and the rest is history, albeit recent-ish history.
While playing with my new Hipstamatic camera and it’s appropriately named Tinto 1884 a/D-Type Plate, I took this portrait of our girl. She has a timeless look that certainly seems older then the Thriller album, no?
