The weather was ideal for the annual Autumnal family portrait of my brother, sis-in-law, and nephew. This years request was for water in the background. That was easy to find, back home. Alas, lots of people were enjoying the weather there too. With a polite word and clever framing, we were able to situate ourselves on a small dock we ended up sharing with a family fishing. The additional challenge was to pull focus back from a five year old boy watching others with worms and bugs. He’s such a boy!
Thanksgiving Weekend was in Midland this year. The centre of it all for me was participating in Sainte-Marie Among the Huron’s Harvest Festival. Although the first show sales were not phenomenal, the kind words and the interest in my work was amazing. As well, it was an adventure that allowed me to see old familiar faces and meet some new wonderful people. Thanks to all those to came out to say hello and the amazing help my family provided. Thankful indeed!
I have been a busy girl as of late. My current series has been approved, as have I, to be part of the Sainte-Marie among the Huron’s Thanksgiving Harvest Festival, in Midland, Ontario. My family and I try to go to this every year, as I love the place!
The is currently being dubbed my Crown & Anchor series, as the nautical and historic themes are quite strong. I’ve certainly been influenced by where I am from (Canada baby!), what has influenced me as a person (epic content), and well, things (Victorian, Vintage, Modern) that I just find interesting.
Above is just a small sample of works in progress. There is SO much more! Hope to see you there!
