Nothing compares to playing in the snow as a bundled up kid…unless you are a happy dog!
The swish, swish, of snow pants, the fixing your toque so that you could see, making sure you didn’t get snow down your boots or up your sleeves.
Such classic and timeless memories!
Bring on the snow ball fights, the snow angels and men, the snow covered hills and crazy carpets!
Put on the hot chocolate mom. We’re coming home wet, tired, and cold!
Peace & Play
It has been one year since we lost our fearless leader, Jack Layton. He was a man who proved himself to be mighty, a visionary, a fighter. He inspired change, positive change, while challenging us and our government to be better. Gone too soon. Without question, you are missed Jack.
My themes these days have been strongly Canadian influenced. Cheering for Team Canada during the Olympics added great fuel to the fire.
What is more Canadian then the Maple Leaf? I have always loved maple keys. Growing up there was a great old maple tree on my grandparents front lawn. It was there I would sit and examine the leafs and keys as a child. Snapping the keys to fly like helicopters was a simple summer pass time. I can just picture Nanny and Grandpa sitting in their respective spots on the porch, sipping pink lemonade. Today I walked down to the cafe for an iced coffee break, picking up a few abandoned maple keys along the way. Beverage in hand, I sat down and started to study and sketch.
I’m such a Canadian girl.
