I wanted to try something. I wanted to capture the beauty of the peonies growing in my garden. I didn’t want to press them. I didn’t want to paint them, or take their photo. I wanted to make them the art. So, I collected my materials: paper, fabric, tape, board, tiny little flowers…and a hammer.
I’m not used to creating such sweet sentimental things. I have now made pretty pieces that my mother loves. Yet the whole time, I felt a little like Tyler Durden. Perhaps that is edgy enough.
